Lately we’ve been hearing a lot about the Narcissist and Narcissistic Abuse, and I think that most spirit filled Christians are sensing that there is in fact a spirit of the age, a Zeigeist at work right now in the world that is ANTI-Jesus Christ…boldly setting it’s self against everything that is of God. Our churches, our families, our ministries, EVEN our health and mental well being. The Jezebel spirit is not gender specific! There are several instances in the Word of God that show that it can and does work, through men and women alike.

Is There a SPIRIT behind the Narcissist Personality?
We’re hearing a lot about the Narcissist these days, and Narcissistic Abuse…And there is clearly a spirit of the age, a Zeigeist at work here in these Last Days, that I feel is described in scripture, as one of the signs of the Last Days.
“For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, demeaning, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Even though they will make a show of being religious, their religion won’t be real. Don’t have anything to do with such people.”
2 Timothy 3:2-5

One morning while contemplating this Zeigeist, that is manifesting in riots, protesting, and abusive behaviors towards others, I started to do my scripture study, and that’s when I read about the Greek word Chalepos (khal-ep-os’) which means reduced strength, difficulty, danger, stress, and hardship. This SOUNDS like the spirit of the narcissist to me. What do you think?
It was used in the New Testament in describing the condition of the two Gadarean men who were DEMON POSSESSED. In Matthew 8:28 it is translated exceeding fierce. Other translations render this phrase furious, violent, or hard to deal with.
“When He had come to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met Him as they came out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.”
